Prayer Requests

1) Please pray for Rev'd Siow ad his wife Lye Een as they prepare to relocate to Kuwait to head up our Chinese ministry in January. Pray especially for the paperwork to be cleared for their visas.

2) Pray for Jasmine and Shaun as they continue to lead our Chinese ministry that the Lord will give them encouragement and strength. We are seeing new faces every week which is encouraging. Pray for debbie Van rensburg as she takes on the role of co-ordinating our outreach to the Chinese community through offering free English lessons.

3) Pray for Charlie who is making so much progress in hospital. Pray that this three year old boy will wake up from his coma and be restored to his family complete and whole.

4) Pray for Becky Layfield as she takes on the role of administrating our Children's Ministry. Praise God for the recovery of Becky's mother from major surgery.

5) Pray for Lloyd and Maud Bailey as they come to terms with the loss of Lloyd's father and pray for his mother who is very ill.

 

Ministry Aims

1) to establish a Chinese Anglican congregation with her own priest.

2) To explore being advocates for the poor in Kuwait.

3) To initiate Christian Muslim relations in order to build bridges between our faith communities.

4) to offer a place of hospitality to Christian worshippers in Kuwait.

This Friday (2nd October) all those involved in Children's ministry (and their families) are invited to the home of Becky Layfield (in Salwa) after church fo a Pizza lunch to learn about the materials we use and how we are going to work as a team. Please RSVP to Andy.  Becky will be sending a map by email which will go out soon.
 
Then on Monday October 13th there will be a meeting at the home of Susannah Joy and Bill for all those interested in being involved with Music ministry. If you a musician or singer please come along and offer your gifts to the LORD. Contact Susannah Joy at knowmore@rocketmail.com

Our Harvest Festival will be on Friday October 17th at 10.30am. This will be in the garden at the British Embassy. Please give your name to Sonny Thomas if you would like to go. You can email him at sonnytomas@gmail.com

 
We will be collecting money and items for a local charity - more details to be given next week.
 
 

News

 
 

Bill Schuillenberg has been invited by the Chaplain to be a pastoral assistant. This has been approved by the Church Council. Bill's specific responsibilities will include assisting in ministry at St Paul's in the realms of  prayer, counselling and overseeing small groups. It is anticipated that in due time Bill will prepare for Reader ministry.

 
 

 

Urgent! We need help for the following:
 
 

1) Chinese Outreach. Teaching English. Every two weeks we will be offering free English classes for members of the Chinese community. We need two teachers who are willing to teach for one or two times a month.The classes are held on Friday after church and last one hour.  We also need one person who will be happy to organise the rota of our English classes and make sure the materials are in place. The curriculum is provided by the British Council. Please contact Chaplain if you can help.

 
2) URGENT! The number of children we have is growing and we need help. Can you offer to help lead a class once a month. We have two groups - the 5-7 years old and the 8-11s.  We also need an organiser/administrator to volunteer to create a rota and ensure teaching materials are available in advance. We are using Scripture Union LIGHT materials from the UK.
 
3) Refreshments: If you can help provide drinks and biscuits once every two or three months then please contact Lara at oroberts@qualitynet.net  Or if you worship on Sunday evening at Ahmadi contact Claire for refreshment rota at claire3hunt@yahoo.com
 
4) URGENT! We need volunteers to take part in the service through reading scriptures and leading intercessions. If you would like to do this then please contact Steve at steveainsworth@capinvestgroup.com

New Location Required for Friday Congregation
 
We need a new venue that has the following requirements:

a) Has two large meeting rooms - one for 200 people and another for 60+.

b) Has two or three smaller rooms which can be class rooms for our Kids ministry.
c) There is adequate parking
d) Is located North of 6th Ring Road on the Gulf side of Kuwait city.
 
We are open to looking at villas, schools, hotels, theatres but we need your help in looking. Do you know any Kuwaiti friends in the real estate business? Then please let them know of our needs. If you think you have found somewhere suitable please let the Chaplain or a member of the PCC know.
